AXIOMTEK introduces low power STX88831 SoM

    

AXIOMTEK¡¦s new STX88831 STX SoM integrates a high-performance, low-power 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor N270 with Intel 945GSE and ICH7M chipsets, delivering best performance-per-watt for communication, healthcare, automation, transportation, and surveillance applications. The Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset integrates an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 that delivers powerful graphics performance with dual-view displays: VGA and LVDS/TTL interfaces. The STX module supports up to 2GB of high-speed DDR2 system DRAM on a single SODIMM. The low-power STX88831 module with a suitable baseboard is an optimized solution for embedded applications with various customized demands, which standard SBC cannot satisfy and also features a low total cost of ownership.
The four PCI and one 16-bit ISA expansion buses on its STX-compliant interface maximize the flexibility of system development. The STX88831 also features rich I/O interfaces, including one SATA, four USB 2.0, one Fast Ethernet, VGA, 18/24-bit LVDS, AC-link audio, PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, 2 UART ports, FDD/LPT port, and IrDA interface (optional). Plugged into an application-specific system baseboard, this atom-based STX module is great for reducing costs and improving the time to market. Moreover, the STX88831 supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Embedded Standard, Windows XPe, Windows CE, Linux as well as QNX.

In related news, AXIOMTEK has introduced the eHUB110, its first industrial-grade powered USB and COM hub with fanless operation, capable of connecting up to five USB devices with 480Mbps data transmitting rate and three COM devices for industrial and heavy-load applications. For factory settings, the eHUB110 adopts a 24V DC power input which provides enough power per port. Its front-facing LED indicators monitor USB and COM activities thoughtfully.
To ensure connected devices function properly, the eHUB110 supports five powered USB with +24V, +12V and +5V power output (one +24V, two +12V and one +5V powered USB) and three powered COM with +5V, +12V or without power output. With rugged metal housing of only 200 x 139 x 40mm, the durable device is portable, wall-mountable and DIN-rail mountable. Moreover, the fanless eHUB110 supports 0oC to 50oC operating temperature.

RXMC-1553 XMC Module from GE

    GE Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, has announced the RXMC-1553 High Density XMC module. Designed to provide unparalleled error detection and 100% monitoring of fully loaded buses, the RXMC-1553 delivers unsurpassed performance and flexibility for MIL-STD-1553 A/B Notice II applications. RoHS-compliant, it features either one or two dual-redundant channels, each of which is supported by 1 MByte of memory, and is conductively cooled for deployment in harsh environments. A conformally-coated version is also available.
Time to market is significantly reduced by the provision of the source code of an advanced API (Application Programming Interface) for both Windows XP/2000/NT and Wind River¡¦s VxWorks. For customers requiring access to the XMC¡¦s 1553 functionality without the need to develop software, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms¡¦ BusTools/ 1553 bus analysis, simulation and data logging/monitoring solution is available.

RXMC-1553 multi-function interfaces are easily configured to operate with simultaneous Bus Controller, up to 31 Remote Terminals and Bus Monitor functionality. Single-function RXMC-1553 interfaces have all the features and functionality of the multi-function versions, but only one major operational mode is enabled at a time. Each interface can emulate either a Bus Controller or up to 31 Remote Terminals or a Bus Monitor.
Standard features of the RXMC-1553 include 45-bit, microsecond message time tagging, triggers, extensive BC & RT link-list structures, error injection/detection, IRIG-B signal receiver/generator with GPS synchronization, automatic/manual RT status bit and mode code responses, along with advanced BC functionality. Avionics low and high side discrete channels, RS-485 differential discrete channels, or programmable I/O are factory configurable options.
