Portwell expands power-saving, compact embedded solutions

     Portwell’s new PEB-2731VLA is a compact (3.5”), cost-effective, low power embedded system board that provides fanless operation. Based on the Ultra Low Voltage Intel Celeron M 600 MHz processor package, PEB-2731VLA uses Intel’s 825GM and ICH4 chipset/core logic. Its interface supports both LAN and audio, as well as VGA, LVDS and DVO to fulfill common graphic needs.
     PEB-2731VLA also includes a Mini-PCI interface for expansion such as Bluetooth or WiFi. A gold finger running along the short edge of the embedded system board accommodates up to four PCI devices to increase the platform’s expansion capabilities. The unit requires a mere +12V DC power input, which makes it an economical choice for almost every type of embedded application.

Maca Link adds S-4500 industrial PC chassis

     Maca Link’s S-4500 is a 4U IPC case with ultra cooling design.
     S-4500’s dimensions are (W) 483mm, (H) 177mm, and (D) 660mm, which provide enough capacity for the system.
     Standard 4 fan spaces for 8cm fans and another 2 optional fan capacity for 6cm fans.
     S-4500 is compatible with any ATX M/B up to 12” x 13” in size.
     S-4500 is compatible with PS2 ATX power supply. It is mainly made from 1.2mm thick steel. This can provide very good protection for all the inside components.
     The entire case is produced with nickel coating, which is available in white and black color options. Rugged in design, the new chassis is ideal for industrial applications.

3U CompactPCI processor blade with AMD GeodeLX 800 @ 0.9W

     The new cPCI-3600 series is based on the latest AMD GeodeLX 800 @ 0.9W processor and AMD Geode CS5536 companion device to offer an optimal power/performance ratio for military, automation, and transportation applications.
     The cPCI-3600 is specifically designed to operate at a very low power consumption profile of less than 10 watts at full loading. This feature is a direct benefit of AMD Geode architecture and provides long term power savings for end users as relatively few 3U CompactPCI processor blades on the market have embraced similar power saving architectures. Furthermore, the cPCI-3600 series memory configuration options of 256 MB DDR 400 MHz memory (soldered) and one SODIMM socket that supports up to 1 GB of RAM. Its soldered memory thus allows for easy integration in rugged military applications where high vibration and adverse environments are common.
     Several other features unique to the cPCI-3600, as compared to its rivals, are one onboard CompactFlash socket, an AC’97 audio interface, and two USB 2.0 ports. Designed in a dual-slot form factor, the cPCI-3600 also provides two 10/100 Ethernet ports, an onboard 2.5” IDE HDD port, two serial ports, one parallel port (SPP/ECP/EPP), and one PS/2 keyboard/mouse interface.
