Advantech adds 2 new mini-ITX chassis with front-accessible I/O interface
Advantech has introduced two new industrial-grade wallmount/desktop chassis built to support Mini-ITX motherboards, the ARK-6610 and the ARK-6620.
Features brand new designs, these compact chassis come with excellent thermal solution to improve the system's heat dissipation performance and reduce Mean-Time-to-Repair (MTTR).
The chassis has front-accessible I/O interfaces for easy cabling and maintenance. The ARK-6610 and the ARK-6620 are ideal platforms for standalone applications, especially when high performance and convenient maintenance are essential.
The ARK-6610 and ARK-6620 are solid industrial-grade chassis with elegant, user friendly exterior design. Every detail, even down to the front power buttonand LED indicators has been designed with ease-of-use in mind.
The innovative new handle designed on the front of ARK-6620 makes it easy to carry for quick installations. Its ingenious mechanical design accommodates Mini-ITX motherboards and delivers 180W of ATX/PFC power performance.
The shockproof disk drive housing and rubber cushions protect the internal 3.5" drive bay against harsh industrial environments.
Both units feature a robust hook on the front to secure the AC power cord. Its nylon net air filter is more durable than the traditional sponge material, and also much easier to clean.
Both the ARK-6610 and ARK-6620 comply with RoHS specifications and are fully compatible with Advantech's line of industrial Mini-ITX motherboards.
Also, in consideration for customers who wishes to place corporate logos onto the chassis, spaces are reserved on both ARK-6610 and ARK-6620.
Both compact chassis are designed for high performance applications while offers easy maintenance.
The units are distinct from other industrial PCs, as it features front accessible I/O interface design to facilitate operations and reduce system down time. All of the I/O interfaces from the Mini-ITX motherboards and expansion cards are built into the front panel, providing for quick data inputs, backups and transfers.
The various cutouts can accommodate different applications without customizing the chassis.
The LED indicators for power status and HDD activity are also mounted on the front of the chassis for efficient system monitoring. The system power switch and the ATX power supply are all located on the front for easy operation.
Streamlined thermal solutions
The stylish and convenient design of ARK-6610 and ARK-6620 will not compromise the system's overall performance.
As the ARK-6610 is designed for Pentium 4, performance up to 2.4GHz, and the ARK-6620 for Pentium M, performance up to Core 2 Duo T7400, both chassis provides excellent thermal design for efficient heat dissipation.
The ARK-6610 included one 52.5CFM fan while the ARK-6620 included two 27.27CFM fans to facilitate system ventilation. The streamlined, rear-in/front-out air flow design permits processor heat dissipation up to 68W (ARK-6610) and 35W (ARK-6620) to support intensive, high-performance processors.
The use of a removable nylon-net system fan filter significantly enhances the system's serviceability, as it is easy to wash and has a longer lifecycle than common sponge filters. In addition, the ARK-6610 and ARK-6620 are equipped with an internal thermal sensor and a LEDindicator on the front to detect and alert for system over-heating.

Advantech, after its corporate declaration at year end 2007 to restructure into a Globally Integrated Enterprise (GIE), is now poised to progressively reorganize its business structure in light of the fresh challenges presented by globalization. A brand-new corporate framework has just been established centering on the re-appropriation of former product and business departments into Embedded ePlatform Group, eServices & Applied Computing Group, and Industrial Automation Group, serving as a solid foundation on which the company will build a Globally Integrated Enterprise.
This marks a new departure from the previous Multi-national Corporation (MNC) structure with boundaries between product divisions and sales regions.
Additionally, to more effectively command the new business opportunities spurred on by Web 2.0, a new generation of web-based communities, Advantech introduced Direct Marketing Force (DMF).
The DMF business model can be divided into two subcategories: Direct Sales and Order Fulfillment via Channels.
These allow customers to place an order directly with Advantech's online store or call center; or proceed to product support through channel partners. These two disparate DMF business paradigms provide direct communication opportunities with customers for optimal service and support to clientele of all sizes.
Design-To-Order-Services, on the other hand, is a business model for extending vertical market reach, along with the strengthening of Design-and-Manufacturing Services.
These endeavors are defined by customer demand and accentuated by high levels of research to furnish Advantech clients with comprehensive customization services, ranging from product development, design, manufacturing, and value-added services, in order to launch pioneering, innovative products and expand the company's influence in the global market. |
