Asustek is offering the W1N Notebook as an ideal solution for video- and audio-related professionals who demand powerful graphics and sound performance. The W1N is also suitable as the foundation of the home entertainment center.
The W1N has a 15.4-inch Wide Screen Display on a WXGA/WSXGA+ active matrix color TFT LCD. The 16:10 wide screen format provides a more natural and comfortable viewing area for the human eye. With both DVD and HDTV formats supporting the 16 x 10 video imaging, the W1N allows users to watch movies the way they are meant to be watched.
The W1N provides explosive graphics performance to elevate users' 3D gaming and video viewing experiences. It has an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 with 64MB VRAM. The built-in subwoofer speaker of the W1N delivers high-quality surround sound, making the notebook ideal for music that demands top audio quality. Other entertainment features include a TV Tuner option, which turns the W1N into a wide-screen television for the hottest shows. It has an ultra-slim remote control that fits inside the PCMCIA slot when not needed. Additionally, the COMBO (DVD/CD-RW) / DVD-Dual disk drive lets users watch their favorite movies or listen to their CDs on the notebook. An LCM display shows the TV status, CD tracks, DVD scene numbers, and more.
The W1N features an Intel Pentium M 1.4-1.7GHz processor, with the Intel 855PM chipset and the IntelPRO Wireless 2100/2100BG, giving enhanced performance and a superior wireless networking capability. The Intel Centrino Mobile Technology allows users to connect to Wireless LAN networks. A Gigabit LAN 1000 Mbps port is available.
Additional features of the W1N Notebook include Power4 Gear+ technology to maximize battery performance; a built-in card reader, compatible with SD /MMC /MS /MS Pro Flash Memory Cards; and a no-gap design, which eliminates dust accumulation in conventional notebook touch pads.
