Taiwan's Celebration of Technology Excellence at COMPUTEX 2004

Every year, since 1993, the most innovative and highest-quality products Made in Taiwan have been honored with the coveted Symbol of Excellence by a panel of international experts from Asia, Europe and North America. Hundreds of products are submitted each year, but only those that truly encapsulate the meaning of "Innovalue" - innovation combined with added value- are selected as Symbol of Excellence Winners. 

These winners symbolize Taiwan's manufacturing prowess for high-quality, innovative, and high value-added products that are enabling the proliferation of technology products in factories, offices and homes around the world.

At COMPUTEX Taipei 2004 you'll notice these winners proudly bearing the Symbol as part of their booth designs and in their collateral materials. Companies also use the logo and slogan in their product advertising. 

The Symbol of Excellence logo is now recognized worldwide as a mark of quality, innovation, and value. 

What is the Symbol of Excellence Logo?

The Symbol of Excellence Logo is a distinctive, proprietary logo and the unique trademark of Taiwan Innovalue. This Symbol heralds Taiwan's ascent to world class quality in product innovation, design and manufacturing. The Symbol represents the high standards which Taiwan product musts meet to remain on the cutting edge of international markets. 

The Selection Process

The entire Symbol of Excellence program is divided into three phases. First, a local panel of distinguished scholars and scientists select the Symbol of Excellence winners. Then, the same group of judges chooses up to 30 finalists. An international panel comprised of leaders in the design, media, manufacturing, and marketing industries then judges the Gold and Silver recipients. 

Entrants at each phase are judged on five main criteria: R&D/innovation, design and innovation, quality system, market and brand awareness.

What is Innovalue? Innovalue is a hybrid of two common terms: Innovation and Value. It is a term coined to describe Taiwan's unique genius in using innovation to create added value in the design and manufacturing of leading-edge products. The result of Innovalue is affordable access to Taiwanese innovation and technology products by consumers around the world. Innovalue is the key to Taiwan's continued economic and manufacturing vitality in the information technology and other industries, well into the 21st Century.
