TwinMOS offers USB Flash WLAN Card B241

TwinMOS has announced the USB Flash WLAN Card B241 as a connection solution. The device contains both IEEE 802.11b and mobile Flash storage capabilities, adding value to the normal card structure.

The USB Flash WLAN Card B241 enables Wi-Fi connections following the IEEE 802.11b standard, with data rates of up to 11 Mbps. The device is hot swappable and works with a USB 1.1 port on desktop or notebook PCs to allow users to surf the Internet wirelessly at home, office or hot spots such as coffee shops, restaurants and airports. The B241 Card also comes with a 128-bit WEP authorization code to provide users with stepped-up security.

The card allows users to easily switch to one of the following modes: WLAN, WLAN+Flash or Flash, enabling mobile Internet enthusiasts to store and retrieve data while browsing online. When under the Flash mode, the card acts as a Flash disk providing 128MB of memory to enable the storage and retrieval of data. Users need to enter a password to use the Flash memory -- a feature that prevents theft or unauthorized viewing of data.

Whether customers are using the B241 Card as an access point or as a WLAN card, they can switch it to the WLAN+Flash mode so as to enjoy wireless Internet and work with their data at the same time. The card converges wireless computing and data storage for user convenience.

The device has a Software AP function to serve as an access point. Users switching the device to the "Software AP" mode will see their notebook or desktop PC turn into an access point that can allow other computer devices in the vicinity to enjoy mobile Internet access. This is an extra feature offered by the B241 Card. Visit TwinMOS Technologies Inc. booth at Hall 1, D710 - 714.
