The DynaBacker DB-2012UF is a dual interface, USB 2.0 and Firewire (IEEE 1394), external RAID 1 data storage device with dual 2.5-inch IDE drive bays. It provides two pocket size portable hard drive enclosures in a caddy design. A caddy can also be a stand-alone external hard drive when connected to the DynaLitto, an external USB 2.0 hard drive adapter. This allows users to remove a drive and transport data between computers.
The DB-2012UF also has a unique mirror function that automatically mirrors all data from one drive to the other. Mirroring is performed by the included DynaView software.
Setup of the data update/ backup function is easy, and mirroring is achieved in embedded hardware, with zero impact on PC system resources (CPU and memory). There is reliable hard drive online hot-swap replacement and quick data auto-rebuilding. In addition, there is a smart hard drive recognition function, to prevent errors in hard drive maintenance.
Rebuild is fast, taking on average 60 minutes for a 60GB drive. A user-friendly LCD display shows rebuild status and error signals.
The included DynaRemote Internet remote monitoring client software provides a user-friendly GUI to monitor your PC system status from a remote location, when, for example, it suffers a hard disk failure. There is an online software update service, with the DynaBacker upgradeable in firmware. The unit has dimensions 257 x 155 x 48 mm.
