On behalf of the COMPUTEX Taipei team, welcome to one of the world's most important IT trade shows. This 24th show event, like each previous show has continued to expand with the trade to offer a record total of 1,329 exhibitors in 2,813 booths. In addition to Exhibition Hall 1, this year's venue includes the sparkling new Hall 3 that creates the extra space that's sorely needed as Asia's top show continues to grow. Hall 3 opens a timely emphasis on FPDs (Flat-panel Displays) which are rapidly replacing clunky CRT monitors.
The mid-summer hit also plugs in the TICC, the Taipei International Convention Center, just next to TWTC Hall 1. Known to COMPUTEX Taipei regulars as Stellar Hall, the TICC will be back this year as Hall 4 to once again host both the stars and those reaching for the stars. Spot-lighted will be such giants as Intel, AMD, National Semiconductor, and Mitac.
Meanwhile, the newly renovated "Area H" on the second floor of Hall One hosts 260 local one-booth exhibitors who bring the best in storage equipment, communications, parts and peripherals. A few minutes walk from there brings you to Hall 2, Asia's best sourcing center for motherboards, systems, and add-on cards.
This event brings together the creative minds from across the industry to introduce countless products and possibilities to progress the world's fastest growing industry. That's why I'm pleased to welcome you to COMPUTEX Taipei'04, Asia's largest and best IT show.
