Avance releases the Terminator PC Case

With the Terminator PC Case, Avance Technologies has developed a thermal control design for the ATX form factor.

The case's ATX motherboard is positioned 180 degrees from the conventional orientation for ATX, so that the CPU, power supply connectors, and I/O area are all located at the base of the case. The Terminator has two large vents for 12cm fans, in both the front and rear of the case, at the base also. An exclusive cooling tunnel connects the two vents and conducts cold air from the front directly across the CPU area. Moreover, the tunnel insulates the heat generated by the CPU from the rest of the case. This design is a precursor of the newer BTX form factor.

With this case design, the hard disk drive cage is placed at the top rear of the case, which is 54 cm high and weighs 11 kg. Damping mats can be applied to the case side panel behind the motherboard as well as the plastic tunnel.

The specially designed tunnel prevents heat from spreading to the rest of the case. With the fan controls located in the front panel, each system fan can be controlled individually. This aluminum faced case accomodates five 5.25-inch and eight 3.5-inch drive bays. For more information, please visit Avance Technologies Inc. at booth E134-E136, in Hall 2, Booth E134-E136.
