Datacomp provides Bluetooth PDA Keyboard
|
Many buyers of PDAs have come to realize that it would be great to have a detachable portable keyboard to use with their device. This kind of keyboard is available on the market for many models of PDA, but Datacomp Electronics is offering something out of the mainstream with its "practical" Bluetooth PDA Keyboard, model DKB68M BT.
This keyboard measures just 260.0 x 120.0 x 32.0 mm (L x W x H) and weighs only 350g. It fits in a briefcase, is lightweight and user-friendly. Consuming 1.5mA in operation, it is powered by three AAA batteries, so, very importantly, it will not drain power from the PDA's own battery. In addition, it is designed as a low-power consumption unit, and the board powers down automatically, when no key is depressed. The keyboard is then reactivated by the press of any single key. The keyboard has its own Power On/Off switch.
This keyboard communicates with a PDA via Bluetooth Class 2, using a Bluetooth HID profile that is Ver. 0.95.c compliant. With a range of up to 10 meters, RF propagation is in the 2.4GHz unlicensed ISM band. Apparently, connection with up to 7 Bluetooth devices is supported.
There is a full-function key layout with 68 keys plus 6 programmable hotkeys on the top. These 6 customizable keys, F1 - F6, are available for fast one-touch access.
This keyboard is compatible with both Palm OS and Windows CE. The membrane keys have a life of 5 million cycles.
Learn more about this keyboard at the Datacomp booth, Hall 1, Booth H912.
