The MMC was created to entertain consumers. From its inception, the MMC was used in DSCs, PDAs, MP3 Players, photo printers, and various other mobile devices that needed storage. In 2003, mobile phone manufacturers, including Samsung, Nokia, Siemens, and Motorola, chose MMC as the memory interface for their respective devices.
However, as mobile devices have accelerated, so too has their capabilities. What started as still image capturing and uncompressed audio transfer has led into motion image filming and compressed audio files.
