C.H.P. Technology offers the Cool Traveler

C.H.P. Technology Co., Ltd. is offering the Cool Traveler, model UCH-236, a combined USB 2.0 Hub and flash card Reader-Writer unit. The USB 2.0 Hub can accommodate up to three USB 2.0 devices. Each downstream port is separated by a generous amount of space, so the three devices will not block each other's port access.
A trendy-looking Epoxy emblem on the top cover, has a stylish shape, allowing the Cool Traveler to become a "cooling" masterpiece and a work of art. The genuinely user-friendly design is able to place an icon, on the PC screen, for each card slot.
With data transfer at up to 480 Mbits/s, the USB 2.0 Reader-Writer can accommodate up to four memory cards simultaneously, with support for CF type I & II, IBM Microdrive, SM, SD, MMC, MS, MS 1bit and 4bit Pro, MS 1bit and 4bit Duo card series. Up to four cards can write to each other simultaneously.
This unit is always backwards compatible with USB 1.1 and supports full-speed 12Mbps and the low-speed 1.5Mbps, in addition to the High-Speed 480 Mbps rate of data transfer.
An extension USB cable is provided, making the unit suitable for both notebook and desktop computer users.
The Cool Traveler can normally function on USB bus power. However, when both hub and card reader-writer functions are required simultaneously, an external power source is required. At such times, end-users are able to use the enclosed PS2/USB power cable in order to obtain extra power, rated at a maximum 1Amp.
