When looking at PC system performance, there was one company that stood out well ahead of all the others. Asustek Computer had the fastest system by far at its booth in Hall 2 of the Taipei World Trade Center during Computex Taipei 2002. While the nearest competitor Eurotrade's editors witnessed during the show was running a system at 2.4GHz, Asustek was breaking the 3GHz barrier. In fact, the P4B533 solution from the company clocked a stable 3.2GHz.
The secret weapon that allowed Asustek to run such a fast system was its cooling solution, supplied by a Danish company. The VapoChill compressor CPU cooling system was the backbone technology behind what the cooler's developer, asetek Inc., dubbed the fastest computer in the world, running at 3,2GHz.
Based on the VapoChill CPU cooling system and commercially available PC hardware components asetek Inc. and Asustek managed to break the 3,2GHz CPU speed barrier for PC workstations. The VapoChill system is a proprietary cooling solution which uses vapor phase technology to chill a computer's microprocessor to sub-zero temperatures and insures its stable and optimal performance. This in turn facilitates a 20 to 35-percent increase in CPU performance.
ASUS and asetek have been working together on a number of special motherboard improvements to secure a safe and reliable thermic acceleration of Intel and AMD CPUs running on asetek's VapoChill CPU cooling technology. The P4B533 series of motherboards redefine high-performance for Pentium 4 with the Intel 845E chipset and DDR 266 support. Overall system operation is enhanced with a peak 2.1GBps bandwidth, while 533MHz FSB supports the latest Intel P4 processors.
The P4B533 supports all socket 478 P4 processors including Willamette and Northwood up to 2.2GHz+ in normal conditions, but beyond 3GHz with the VapoChill cooling system.. The 533MHz FSB increases bandwidth and improves overall system performance.
